Our executive HR interim offering

Jenny Scrivener has joined Oakleaf Executive to enhance our interim offering to the HR Executive marketplace at an exciting time of change and challenge. She has worked in HR recruitment for over 20 years and most of this time has been focused on interim and temporary recruitment.

Oakleaf Partnership has always managed interim recruitment, what is the difference with Executive Interim?

Interim recruitment is about supporting a client to fill an immediate need. The need tends to be urgent, requiring the HR professional to go in and hit the ground running. This is the same for Executive level interim. The main difference is the level of HR professional and the seniority and complexity of the requirement.  Within the current economic and political challenging climate, businesses at times require a more strategic or specialist focus for example: leading complex projects, HR change, HR Initiatives, Organisation Design, Development, M&A, high level ER, or simply covering a Director level maternity or permanent vacancy. 

As a supplier, you need to ensure you have people you know and trust to deliver the work to a high standard and have access to them quickly. When working on executive interim recruitment you are in contact with both your candidate and client before and during the assignment to ensure everything is running efficiently.  As with my interim counterparts and in line with the market demands, these executive assignments can also be offered on a fixed term contract basis.

What do you enjoy most about interim recruitment?

The reason I love this so much, and honestly I do, is the pace at which you work, and the strength of relationships you build with your clients. I have placed people in extremely powerful and influential seats, changing the landscape of how a business will be run and designed moving forward. This is fascinating to be part of, to be the one to supply that person, who has made change for the better, and hear the success post placement.

It is super exciting! Oakleaf are investing heavily in our Executive team adding both Penny Daniels and myself last month. The team consists of Katrina Stewart, a seasoned HR search consultant, (who also leads the Executive offering), Emma Castillo, Lucy Bills and Penny Daniels running permanent search, and I am the first to be purely dedicated to Executive Interim. Last but not least is our Executive Researcher, Krista Murray, who supports the team with research, customer care and executive HR intel.  With a dedicated interim service being added to the Executive offering we can not only offer support as detailed above but can also offer our clients some immediate support while my colleagues are managing their permanent hire.  

How do you ensure you have the best Interims available?

Oakleaf have been in this HR marketplace for over 16 years nurturing a high quality database, with some people who have been dedicated customers for many years. We have an impressive array of HR professionals and I have been meeting exceptional talent since starting 4 weeks ago.  To bring this to life, we boast some of the strongest HR and Reward Directors out there from a range of sectors, with both UK and Global exposure, we have a solid pool of Organisational Design professionals, I have interviewed top notch Heads and Directors of Talent, and am very impressed by the quality of HR Change and ER professionals we have access to. We are working hard to meet new talent all the time and are always receiving referrals from our network.  

What can our clients expect from you should they call you for support?

We can provide commercial, fit for purpose, solutions for our clients to any challenge within the realm of HR. Our clients can expect a friendly voice, a positive approach, a sense of urgency without being impatient, open conversation, questions, solutions and a quick turnaround – oh and ideally a coffee or maybe even a glass of wine!
